Sue qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1974, having completed articles with Arthur Young McClelland Moore in Liverpool. In 1975, she joined the Commonwealth Development Corporation and was posted to Kenya, as regional accountant, in 1976. In 1982, she joined PriceWaterhouse in Nairobi and was responsible for the small business department. She gained wide experience in agricultural enterprises, both large and small. 1989 saw a move to industry, and in 1993 she started her own audit and consultancy practice in Kenya. She has extensive experience of business in Kenya, primarily in the agricultural sector. In 2006, she decided to concentrate on consultancy work and became involved with the re-activation of Farmers Own Trading.
